Overview

General Information

Visitors

All visitors are required to sign in at the office during the instructional day. They will be issued a Visitor badge. We welcome visitors but must ensure the safety of our students. In order to promote a strong educational environment and ensure the safety of all students, the Murrieta Valley Unified School District has adopted the following protocol for visitors to all school campuses:

Visitations to classrooms must be arranged 24 hours prior to the visit; weekends and holidays not included.

Visitors must register at the office, providing, upon request, name, address, occupation, age (if under 21), and purpose for the visit.   Proof of identification must also be provided.

Visitations to deliver lunch money, homework, etc. are not allowed. Office staff will expedite the delivery of such items so that instruction is not interrupted.

A complete copy of Administrative Regulation 1250 is available in the front office.

Parent Volunteers

We welcome and appreciate parent volunteers.

Adult volunteers for our school are required to complete a volunteer registration form at the school office. This information will then be checked by our Human Resources Department against the Murrieta Police Department’s “Megan’s Law” computer data base to assure we have no registered sex offenders serving in a volunteer capacity working with our students.

Proof of identity will also be required in the form of a valid driver's license or a photo identification card.

In addition, parents who volunteer for 4 hours or more per week in the same classroom must bring proof of a current TB skin test.

School Telephones

School phones are limited to school business and emergencies. Children will be permitted to use the phone only in an emergency. Plans for after school activities should be made at home before the school day. Students and teachers should not be asked to come to the phone when classes are in session, except in an emergency.

Report Cards

Report cards are issued every semester and progress reports are issued mid-semester. They are designed to give you a written report on the educational progress of your child.

Conferences

Parent Teacher conferences are held at the end of October for all students. Spring conferences may be requested by either the teacher or parent. Please make every effort to attend them. Parents are encouraged to conference with the teacher at any time throughout the year. An appointment may be made by leaving a message for the teacher at the office, by email, or in writing.

Lost and Found

The lost and found is located on the outside of the Multi-Purpose room. Please mark your child's sweaters, jackets, backpacks, lunch boxes, etc. for easy identification. Small items are turned into the office. Parents are invited to check the lost and found. We are not responsible for personal toys, games, or other personal items that should not be brought to school.

Bicycles

Any student riding a bike to school should bring a lock. Bikes must be stored in the fenced bike rack area. Students riding to school must wear bicycle helmets.
Skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, Heelys, and bikes are not allowed on the main campus.

Lunches

For the 2025-26 school year, meals will be free for all students.

Nutritious meals are available for breakfast and lunch. Menus are posted online.

Snacks

Each class has a snack period at the beginning of the morning recess (early afternoon for PM kindergarten). Snacks are eaten at the outdoor picnic tables in the shade. Younger students especially benefit from a nutritious snack. Please avoid soft drinks, sugary snacks, candy or other "junk food". Fruit, half a sandwich and crunchy vegetables are especially good energy boosters.
