Facilities Planning

Building the Future of Our Schools

Our school facilities are more than just buildings; they are the heart of our community. They shape how our students learn, how our teachers inspire, and how we connect as a neighborhood.

To ensure our campuses continue to support student success, safety, and operational efficiency, the District has been developing a Facility Master Plan (FMP) and a Bond Feasibility Study. While we take immense pride in our schools, many were built over 30 years ago. Some classrooms and labs have not been updated since the day they opened.

The FMP serves as our roadmap for modernizing and expanding our campuses to meet the needs of today—and tomorrow.

A Community-Driven Process

Projects of this magnitude require a collective effort. Since August 2025, we have worked closely with stakeholders to ensure our plan is rooted in real-world needs:

  • 6 Facility Committee Meetings: Collaboration between district staff and community volunteers to guide the planning process.
  • 19 School Site Walks: Detailed on-site evaluations by Principals and our Facility Director to capture accurate site data and context.
  • 19 Principal Visioning Meetings: Strategic sessions bringing together architects and school leaders to align instructional goals with physical space.
  • 18 School Site Council Meetings: Direct engagement with school-based councils to identify site-specific priorities.
  • 3 Town Hall Meetings: Public forums held across our feeder patterns to share the long-term vision and gather community feedback.
  • 3 Bond Advisory Committee Meetings: Collaborative sessions with city leaders and community influencers to build trust and clarify shared priorities.
